Anti-LA antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LA antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SSB gene, which encodes small RNA binding exonuclease protection factor La. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of LA has a canonical amino acid length of 408 residues and a protein mass of 46.8 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include LARP3 and LARP3. Western Blot is the most common application for the LA antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
