Anti-JAK1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein Janus kinase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1154 amino acid residues and a mass of 133.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. It is noted to be expressed at higher levels in primary colon tumors than in normal colon tissue. A member of the Tyr protein kinase protein family, JAK1 is known to be involved with cell differentiation and viral immune response. The JAK1 gene has been associated with the disease, Autoinflammation, immune dysregulation, and eosinophilia. Synonyms for this target antigen include JAK1A, JAK1B, JTK3, tyrosine-protein kinase JAK1, and AIIDE. JAK1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 570 citations in the literature describe the use of JAK1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
