Anti-S100beta antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target S100beta is a known alias name of the protein S100 calcium binding protein B, encoded by the S100B gene in humans. This 92-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in neuronal development, among other biological processes. It is localized to the nucleus, cytoplasm, and is secreted of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the breast and caudate. Other synonyms for S100beta include NEF, NEF, and S100. Western Blot is the most common application for the S100beta antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
