Anti-PME antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PME antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CSTB gene, which encodes cystatin B. This protein is an intracellular thiol proteinase inhibitor. The human version of PME has a canonical amino acid length of 98 residues and a protein mass of 11.1 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the vagina, urinary bladder, tonsil, oral mucosa, and esophagus. Other names for this target antigen include CPI-B, CST6, and EPM1. Western Blot is the most common application for the PME antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
