Anti-PLAS1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PLAS1 is a known alias name of the protein phospholipase A2 group IIA, encoded by the PLA2G2A gene in humans. This 144-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in inflammatory response pathways and the metabolism of lipids, among other biological processes. It is localized to the mitochondria, cell membrane, and is secreted of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in various tissues including heart, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, placenta, skeletal muscle, prostate, ovary, colon and small intestine. Other synonyms for PLAS1 include MOM1, MOM1, and PLA2.
