Anti-C-C motif chemokine ligand 5 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene CCL5 in humans. The gene may also be known as RANTES, D17S136E, SCYA5, SIS-delta, C-C motif chemokine 5, and T-cell specific protein p288. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 10 kilodaltons in mass and antibodies to the CCL5 antigen may be useful for studying cytokine signaling. The CCL5 marker can be used to identify Effector Memory CD45RA CD8 T Cells, Mature CD8 T Cells, CD8+ ?ß Memory T Cells, and Immature NKT Cells.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
