Anti-HGO antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the HGO antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HGD gene, which encodes homogentisate 1,2-dioxygenase. This protein is known to catalyze the conversion of homogentisate to maleylacetoacetate. The human version of HGO has a canonical amino acid length of 445 residues and a protein mass of 50 kilodaltons. It is reported to be notably expressed in many tissues, such as the endometrium and gallbladder. This target antigen may also be known as AKU. Western Blot is the most common application for the HGO antibodies listed below. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
