Anti-COL28A1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein collagen type XXVIII alpha 1 chain. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1125 amino acid residues and a mass of 116.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix and is secreted. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the VWA-containing collagen protein family, COL28A1 is believed to act as a cell-binding protein. Synonyms for this target antigen include collagen alpha-1(XXVIII) chain and collagen, type XXVIII, alpha 1. COL28A1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the COL28A1 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
