Anti-proBNP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target proBNP is a known alias name of the protein natriuretic peptide B, encoded by the NPPB gene in humans. This 134-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in receptor-mediated signaling pathways and the regulation of angiogenesis, among other biological processes. The protein is secreted and features O-glycosylated and cleaved post-translational modifications.
