Anti-lysyl oxidase like 3 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the LOXL3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 753 amino acid residues and a mass of 83.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus, cytoplasm, and is secreted. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the Lysyl oxidase protein family, it is reported to be a protein-lysine 6-oxidase that mediates the oxidation of peptidyl lysine residues to allysine in target proteins. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Other names for this target antigen include lysyl oxidase homolog 3 and lysyl oxidase-like protein 3. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of lysyl oxidase like 3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for these antibodies.
