Anti-TNNT3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein troponin T3, fast skeletal type. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 269 amino acid residues and a mass of 31.8 kDa. Up to 7 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the skeletal muscle and skin. A member of the Troponin T protein family, TNNT3 is known to be involved with muscle contraction. The TNNT3 marker can be used to identify Myo-Medullary Thymic Epithelial Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include TNTF, beta-TnTF, troponin T, fast skeletal muscle, troponin T type 3 (skeletal, fast), and DA2B2. TNNT3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
