Anti-Gp95 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Gp95 is a known alias name of the protein sortilin 1, encoded by the SORT1 gene in humans. This 831-amino acid residue protein is known to function as a sorting receptor in the Golgi compartment and as a clearance receptor on the cell surface. It is localized to the nucleus, ER, Golgi, lysosomes, and cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated, palmitoylated, cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the brain and prostate. The term LDLCQ6 is another synonym for Gp95.
