Anti-PFK1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PFK1 is a known alias name of the protein phosphofructokinase, muscle, encoded by the PFKM gene in humans. This 780-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the phosphorylation of D-fructose 6-phosphate to fructose 1,6-bisphosphate by ATP, the first committing step of glycolysis. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for PFK1 include ATP-PFK, GSD7, and PFK-1. Western Blot is a widely used application for the PFK1 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
