Anti-ALDH1B1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family member B1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 517 amino acid residues and a mass of 57.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Aldehyde dehydrogenase protein family, ALDH1B1 is known to be involved with carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis. Synonyms for this target antigen include ALDHX, aldehyde dehydrogenase X, mitochondrial, ALDH class 2, acetaldehyde dehydrogenase 5, aldehyde dehydrogenase 5, and ALDH5. ALDH1B1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog and chimpanzee species. A number of ALDH1B1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
