Anti-PES1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein pescadillo ribosomal biogenesis factor 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 588 amino acid residues and a mass of 68 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Pescadillo protein family, PES1 is a known component of the PeBoW complex, which is required for maturation of 28S and 5.8S ribosomal RNAs and formation of the 60S ribosome. Post-translational modifications have been described, including sumoylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include PES, pescadillo homolog, pescadillo homolog 1, containing BRCT domain, and NOP7. PES1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PES1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
