Anti-PEX13 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein peroxisomal biogenesis factor 13. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 403 amino acid residues and a mass of 44.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the peroxisomes. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Peroxin-13 protein family, PEX13 is a known component of the PEX13-PEX14 docking complex, a translocon channel that specifically mediates the import of peroxisomal cargo proteins bound to PEX5 receptor. Synonyms for this target antigen include PBD11A, PBD11B, ZWS, peroxisome biogenesis factor 13, peroxin-13, peroxisomal membrane protein PEX13, and NALD. PEX13 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PEX13 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
