Anti-CFAP221 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cilia and flagella associated protein 221. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 840 amino acid residues and a mass of 96.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in ciliated respiratory epithelial cells and brain ependymal cells. A member of the PCDP1 protein family, CFAP221 is believed to play a role in cilium morphogenesis. Synonyms for this target antigen include primary ciliary dyskinesia 1 homolog, primary ciliary dyskinesia protein 1, and flagellar associated protein 221 homolog. CFAP221 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the CFAP221 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Flow Cytometry are also common applications.
