Anti-PEX19 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein peroxisomal biogenesis factor 19. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 299 amino acid residues and a mass of 32.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the Peroxin-19 protein family, PEX19 is known to be involved with protein stabilization. The PEX19 gene has been associated with the disease, Peroxisome biogenesis disorder. Synonyms for this target antigen include HK33, PBD12A, PMP1, PMPI, PXF, PXMP1, 33 kDa housekeeping protein, and D1S2223E. PEX19 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PEX19 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
