Anti-PNPase antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PNPase is a known alias name of the protein polyribonucleotide nucleotidyltransferase 1, encoded by the PNPT1 gene in humans. This 783-amino acid residue protein is known to be an RNA-binding protein implicated in numerous RNA metabolic processes. It is localized to the membrane, mitochondria, and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types.
