Anti-ING2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein inhibitor of growth family member 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 280 amino acid residues and a mass of 32.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the ING protein family, ING2 is suspected to be involved in p53/TP53 activation and p53/TP53-dependent apoptotic pathways, probably by enhancing acetylation of p53/TP53. Synonyms for this target antigen include p33ING2, inhibitor of growth protein 2, ING1Lp, inhibitor of growth 1-like protein, p32, and ING1L. ING2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of ING2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
