Anti-Q6 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Q6 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the QSOX1 gene, which encodes quiescin sulfhydryl oxidase 1. This protein is known to function in autophagy pathways and protein folding, among other biological roles. The human version of Q6 has a canonical amino acid length of 747 residues and a protein mass of 82.6 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the Golgi and is secreted of cells. Q6 is a member of the Quiescin-sulfhydryl oxidase (QSOX) protein family.
