Anti-PGAR antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PGAR is a known alias name of the protein angiopoietin like 4, encoded by the ANGPTL4 gene in humans. This 406-amino acid residue protein is known to mediate inactivation of the lipoprotein lipase LPL, and thereby plays a role in the regulation of triglyceride clearance from the blood serum and in lipid metabolism. It is localized to the extracellular matrix and is secreted of the cell and features N-glycosylated and cleaved post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in blood plasma. Other synonyms for PGAR include ARP4, FIAF, and HARP. Western Blot is the most common application for the PGAR antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
