Anti-SLC36A1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 36 member 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 476 amino acid residues and a mass of 53.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the lysosomes and cell membrane. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Amino acid/polyamine transporter 2 protein family, SLC36A1 is known to be involved with the transport of ions. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include lysosomal amino acid transporter 1, proton/amino acid transporter 1, solute carrier family 36 (proton/amino acid symporter), member 1, and proton-coupled amino acid transporter 1. SLC36A1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chimpanzee species. Some SLC36A1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
