Anti-UBC4 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target UBC4 is a known alias name of the protein ubiquitin conjugating enzyme E2 D2, encoded by the UBE2D2 gene in humans. This 147-amino acid residue protein is known to accept ubiquitin from the E1 complex and catalyzes its covalent attachment to other proteins. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the bone marrow, urinary bladder, and adipose tissue.
