Anti-NTD antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the NTD antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FUZ gene, which encodes fuzzy planar cell polarity protein. This protein is known to function in cilium assembly and hair follicle development, among other biological roles. The human version of NTD has a canonical amino acid length of 418 residues and a protein mass of 45.7 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. NTD is a member of the Fuzzy protein family.
