RNase H, or Ribonuclease H, is an endonuclease that specifically digests RNA in DNA-RNA hybridized pairs. This feat is exploited in molecular biology, in which E. coli RNase H is used to degrade the RNA template after first strand cDNA synthesis in reverse transcription.
