Embryonic Stem Cell Media

Embryonic Stem Cell Media are important for the growth and survival of embryonic stem cells (ESCs). Culturing of human ESCs have traditionally included a layer of feeder cells such as mouse embryonic fibroblasts, although feeder-free and serum-free formulations have since been developed. For clinical applications, human ESCs cannot be grown in the the presence of animal components due to the risk of transmitting viruses or other pathogens. Be sure to consult the product detail pages of the suppliers for specific media features, such as being chemically defined, serum free, or xeno-free.
