TIRF Microscopes

TIRFM is a well-established technique for live cell imaging that makes use of total internal reflection (TIR) to produce extremely high contrast, low background images.  The electromagnetic field of the light extends into the sample beyond the interface by some one to two hundred nanometers yielding a very thin section of the specimen to undergo fluorescence excitation. TIRF Microscopes are used for applications such as single cell analysis, cell membrane study, surface receptor activity, cytoskeleton dynamics and other live cell imaging needs. Look for platforms that are easily modified to accommodate a wide range of experimental requirements, intelligent laser safety that provides maximum protection, and easy to use, real-time control of hardware.
