The Brain Blocker One™ is a gelatin cube, left and right sides, with cavities in the exact shape of the mouse or rat brain, and edges in standard stereotaxic alignment. Presoak the gels, drop a fresh or fixed brain in to displace the liquid in the cavity, and it fits as if it was cast there. Add the top, and the brain is fully encased, as if it had been embedded. The gels expand slowly with hydration, so differences in the brain size can be accommodated. Freeze and section the entire block, reference edges make it aligned.
