The Peltier element-based Biometra TGGE (Temperature Gradient Gel Electrophoresis ) System is designed specifically for rapid mutation analysis during the screening of PCR fragments. Unlike conventional denaturing techniques using chemical gradients, this system affords the researcher a quick gradient setup and reproducible separation conditions. In contrast with other applications, the TGGE System offers the capability of identifying different mutations occurring on the same strand of DNA commonly called alleles or haplotypes. Utilizing the precisely regulated peltier elements with the unique linear gradient capability, this unit allows a quick gradient setup with the highest reproducible separation conditions for absolute accuracy. Improvements, such as downsized gel dimensions, yield high resolutions and shorter run times resulting in the quick optimization of experiments.
