EPICENTRE’s TransforMax™ EC100™ Electrocompetent E. coli and TransforMax™ EC100™ Chemically Competent E. coli competent cells are ideal for most cloning applications. Benefits include high transformation efficiencies: >1 x 1010 cfu/µg and >1 x 108 cfu/µg of pUC19 with the electrocompetent and chemically competent cells, respectively; the ability to accept large DNAs for construction of large-insert genomic libraries, and the genotype lac ZÄM15 for blue/white screening of recombinants. The cells are also genotypically endonuclease minus (endA1) and recombination minus (recA1) to ensure high yields of DNA and the greater stability of large cloned inserts.
