Lucigen’s new OverExpress™ Competent Cells express a wide variety of proteins previously difficult or impossible to express in bacteria. The OverExpress strains are mutated BL21(DE3) that are effective in overexpressing toxic and membrane proteins from any organism, including viruses, eubacteria, archaea, yeasts, plants, insects, and mammals.
Four OverExpress strains are available as chemically competent or electrocompetent cells: C41(DE3), C43(DE3), C41(DE3)pLysS, and C43(DE3)pLysS. These competent cells are compatible with any T7 expression vector. The effectiveness of OverExpress Cells has been demonstrated in over 350 publications. Lucigen OverExpress products are now available in the US and Canada.
