Biocompare is the first site to offer life science researchers access to unbiased product information on the World Wide Web. We have designed our site so that it is easy to navigate, allowing users to access the desired information as easily (fewest clicks) as possible.
Selecting a Category
To begin, choose an area of interest on the Home Page (e.g. Molecular Biology) and click on the highlighted text with the cursor. This will bring you to a page that contains listings for commonly used products in that particular area of research. Once the secondary page has come up, choose a particular product you are interested in and click it. This will bring you to a matrix that contains all the pertinent information that you will need to make an informed decision about that product.
The Matrix
The top row of the matrix consists of a series of column headers that describe the information within the table. The left most column (running vertically) is the Select column. By selecting products within the matrix that you are interested in, you can view only the selected products side-by-side by simply hitting the Compare button located at the top and bottom of the matrix.
To get more information on the product, or to see a picture of the product etc., simply click on the Buy Now link or Vendor Product Page link. This will open up a new window in your browser that will take you directly to the manufacturer's web site. There you will be able to get more information on the product and in some cases (but not all) buy the product directly from the manufacturer. To receive information on a product or service simply click on the Request Information button and fill out the fields. To receive a quote on a product or receive additional information simply click on the Request Quote link (red link) and fill out the fields and hit submit.
Search
If you are interested in a specific product and you are not exactly sure where it would be listed in Biocompare, simply type in the product name in the search box that is located in the header for each page. This will bring up a list of links, one of which will be the one you are interested in. If your entry cannot be found you will be brought to the PowerSearch page where a more robust search engine is in place. Re-enter your request here for a more thorough search.
