The LUMIstar Omega is a compact and modular DLReadyTM certified microplate reader for flash and glow luminescence. This upgradeable luminometer is designed for the widest possible range of applications based on luminescence labels.
Key Features:
BMG LABTECH's Digital Photon Integration (DPI) technology and its programmable gain control give the LUMIstar Omega great sensitivity, with an extended linear dynamic range. By incorporating on-board reagent injectors, flash kinetic reactions can be measured at a frequency of 50Hz or 50 measurement points per second. The fast transport system allows 96-well plates to be read in as little as 20 seconds.
The LUMIstar Omega can be equipped with one or two integrated syringe injectors (no bulky add-on boxes beside or on top of the microplate reader). The injectors can deliver agonists, substrates, enzymes - even cells, for advanced microplate assays. Up to four different volumes, between 5 to 350 µL in 0.5 µL increments, can be delivered to each well; thereby allowing the user to produce dilution schemes, concentration ranges, etc. Other outstanding features of the LUMIstar Omega include top and bottom reading, automatic gain adjustment, stacker and robot compatibility, incubation up to 45°C or 65°C and exceptional gas control features. With the Atmostpheric Control Unit O2 and CO2 can be independently regulated within the microplate reader. Due to the unique two valve system, any combination of O2 (1-19%) and CO2 (0-20%) can be programmed into the unit making it unnecessary to change gas cylinders or piped gas supplies to reproduce certain physiological conditions needed for cell-based assays. Additionally, the LUMIstar Omega comes with an extensive software package including BMG LABTECH's established Control and powerful MARS Data Analysis Software. This extensive software package provides limitless possibilities for test set up where it is needed, but also offers a """"Quick-Start"""" mode for running routine analysis with just 3 mouse clicks. Additionally, a Template Manager can be used for building complex data processing protocols and one click data analysis. Improved robotic integration capabilities via DDE or ActiveX interface, digital signature and FDA 21 CFR part 11 compliance round up the LUMIstar Omega software package.

Upgrades:
The LUMIstar is upgradeable to both the FLUOstar and POLARstar Omega. These upgrades have ultra-fast full spectrum UV/Vis absorbance and additional detection modes. Both of these Omega microplate readers are capable of capturing a full UV/Vis absorbance spectrum (220-1000 nm) at a resolution of 1 nm. Read times faster than 1 second per well are possible. Whenever the need for fluorescence intensity, time-resolved fluorescence and absorbance based experiments arrive, have the LUMIstar Omega upgraded to a FLUOstar Omega. If you need additional Simultaneous Dual Emission detection or fluorescence polarization, you can easily upgrade the LUMIstar Omega to the POLARstar Omega.
