Description
The Techne sample concentrator is a fast, convenient and popular method of simultaneously concentrating multiple biological sample volumes in minutes. Traditional methods of sample concentration can take hours and require the use of centrifugation, vacuum, heat and expensive cold traps. The Techne sample concentrator avoids all of this by using a simple gas delivery system to concentrate or dry the samples.
- Fast evaporation due to the combination of the gas flow from above and heat from the DB-3 Dri-Block®* heater.
- Easy to use, simply place samples in the pre-warmed Dri-Block® heater, lower the needles over the samples and switch the gas on.
- Fully adjustable height, as the gas reservoir is mounted on a fully adjustable stand to allow the needles to be lowered to the correct height.
- High quality stainless steel or PTFE coated needles are available in lengths of 76 mm or 127 mm to suit varying tube heights.
- The needles can be placed in their silicone mat to fit the sample spacing pattern. This could be a 96-well plate or multiple microtube or tests tubes depending on the block format used on the Dri-Block® heater.
- The concentrator can be incorporated into robotic systems or placed in a fume hood if required.
- Applications include the preparation of samples for bioanalytical techniques in drug screening, assay development and combinatorial chemistry as well as the more traditional molecular biological techniques such as evaporation of ethanol from DNA and RNA samples.
*A DB-3 Dri-Block® heater must be ordered separately for use with the Sample Concentrator
