Description
TurboRFP is a novel red fluorescent protein derived from sea anemone Entacmaea quadricolor. Possessing high photo- and pH-stability, TurboRFP is about twice brighter than DsRed2. Long-wavelength emission of TurboRFP results in clear signal, easily distinguishing from background fluorescence and efficiently transmitting even through whole tissue. Fast TurboRFP maturation makes it clearly detectable in mammalian cells as early as within 8 - 12 hours after transfection. TurboRFP is mainly intended for applications where fast appearance of bright fluorescence is crucial. It is specially recommended for cell and organelle labeling and for tracking the promoter activity. pTurboRFP-mito is a mammalian expression vector encoding TurboRFP fused with mitochondrial targeting sequence of human cytochrome C oxidase subunit VIII precursor. pTurboRFP-mito vector is designed to be used for fluorescent labeling of mitochondria.
