Description
TurboGFP is an improved variant of the green fluorescent protein CopGFP cloned from copepoda Pontellina plumata. TurboGFP reveals bright green fluorescence (excitation max 482 nm and emission max 502 nm) and noticeably faster maturation than EGFP when expressed in eukaryotic cells. TurboGFP is non-aggregating protein that can be successfully used for stable cell line generation and fusion production. Its fast maturation and bright fluorescence allows visualizing of gene expression and protein localization at the early stages of biological processes, especially in cool-blooded animals. pTurboGFP-mito is a mammalian expression vector encoding TurboGFP fused with mitochondrial targeting sequence of human cytochrome C oxidase subunit VIII precursor. pTurboGFP-mito vector is designed to be used for fluorescent labeling of mitochondria.
