Lasergene® v.8.1 is the latest version of sequence analysis software from DNASTAR. Lasergene has become a worldwide choice for molecular biology researchers performing conventional and Next Generation sequence analysis studies in over 70 countries. The new Lasergene v8.1 has expanded analytical tools to simplify Multisite Gateway cloning. In addition, the new Assemble in Groups function permits users to simultaneously analyze SNPs from multiple sources for easy comparative studies. Other new features provide additional filtering capabilities on SNP searches and the inclusion of neighborhood quality scoring, and expanded capacity for analyzing Next Generation sequence data assemble by SeqMan NGen from Illumina, Roche 454, ABI SOLiD and Helicos platforms. New features also permit the simultaneous BLAST of multiple contigs. Simplified integration with GenVision permits the creation of novel, publication-quality graphics along with additional analysis. Lasergene is available on the latest Windows (XP, Vista™ and Windows 7) and Mac® operating systems (OS X 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6). The complete Lasergene suite permits users to design and edit Primers, visualize circular and linear maps, construct clones, translate DNA sequences, and analyze ORFs, assemble sequences, analyze traces for confidence and consensus calculation using the best base calling method available, detect miscalls and SNPs, analyze SNPs, perform primer walking and analyze mate pairs to construct scaffolds and detect misalignments, align pairwise and multiple DNA and protein sequences using a selection of methods, cluster, create phylogenetic trees, design single or multiplex PCR pairs, sequencing primers, and hybridization probes, locate genomic features, genes, regulatory elements, and other sequence patterns, and analyze protein sequence properties along with structural characteristics.
