Description
The Zero Background™ Cloning Kits include pZErO® vector with Zeocin™ or kanamycin resistance for selection in E. coli. The pZErO® vectors use positive selection to eliminate high background. There are two vectors to choose from:
- the pZErO®-1 vector takes advantage of the small size of the Zeocin™ resistance gene to reduce the overall vector size for increased ligation and transformation efficiencies
- the pZErO®-2 vector includes the kanamycin resistance gene

Blunt Cloning Kits
Kit Contents:
Each kit includes 25 µg supercoiled pZErO®-1 (the Zero Background Cloning Kit)or pZErO®-2 vector (the Zero Background™/Kan Cloning Kit) in TE, 200 ng blunt-end test inserts, TOP10 E. coli stab, 25 µl T4 DNA ligase, 10X ligation buffer, 1 ml sterile water, and 2 ml sterile TE. The Zero Background™ Cloning Kit also contains 1.25 ml Zeocin™ selection agent. Store the TOP10 stab at room temperature. Store the remaining kit components at -20°C. All reagents are guaranteed stable for 6 months when properly stored.
