streptavidin, Alexa Fluor® 647 conjugate *2 mg/mL*
from
Molecular Probes (Invitrogen)
Description
Our Streptavidin, Alexa Fluor 647 conjugate is a bright, far-red fluorescent probe with excitation and emission characteristics identical to Cy5 dye (650/668 nm). Streptavidin is a nonglycosylated biotin-binding protein that is isolated from bacteria and has a near-neutral isoelectric point. It is widely used to detect biotinylated probes because it reportedly exhibits less nonspecific binding than does the glycosylated, biotin binding protein, avidin. Alexa Fluor 647 is a long-wavelength dye that is not visible to the human eye. Streptavidin, Alexa Fluor 647 is also available in a 1 mg size, S-21374.
