streptavidin, Alexa Fluor® 555 conjugate *2 mg/mL*
from
Molecular Probes (Invitrogen)
Description
Our streptavidin, Alexa Fluor 555 conjugate is a bright, orange-fluorescent probe with excitation and emission characteristics identical to Cy3 dye (555/565 nm). Streptavidin is a nonglycosylated biotin-binding protein that is isolated from bacteria and has a near-neutral isoelectric point. It is widely used to detect biotinylated probes because it reportedly exhibits less nonspecific binding than does the glycosylated, biotin-binding protein, avidin. Streptavidin, Alexa Fluor 555 is also available in a 1 mg size, S-21381.
