streptavidin, Alexa Fluor® 488 conjugate *2 mg/mL*
from
Molecular Probes (Invitrogen)
Description
Our streptavidin Alexa Fluor 488 conjugate is a bright, photostable probe with excitation and emission characteristics similar to those of fluorescein. Streptavidin is a nonglycosylated biotin-binding protein that is isolated from bacteria and has a near-neutral isoelectric point. It is widely used to detect biotinylated probes because it reportedly exhibits less nonspecific binding than does the glycosylated biotin-binding protein, avidin. Streptavidin, Alexa Fluor 488 also comes in a 1 mg size, S-11223.
