The compact and versatile PHERAstar Plus microplate reader is able to perform all the leading non-isotopic detection technologies including:

The PHERAstar Plus has four photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) for light detection that are optimized for specific reading modes. This ensures that your assay is read with highest sensitivity – a feature that no other microplate reader offers. The PMTs are automatically selected for your reading mode and require absolutely no intervention from the user.

Due to the unique modular optical system, sequential dual excitation, Simultaneous Dual Emission detection, and ratiometric calculations such as FRET and BRET are all done with ease and speed. Barcoded Optic Modules have filters, mirrors, beamspliters, dichroics, polarizers – any component needed for your assay in one hand-held module. The PHERAstar Plus will automatically select the proper module for your assay protocol. Never worry about what dichroic, aperture, or filter is installed in your microplate reader again.

The PHERAstar Plus provides great sensitivity, speed and dynamic range. Not only does it support endpoint readings, but it is also capable of kinetic measurements and well scanning with better control and flexibility than competing readers

Well scanning – up to 10x10 matrix scans in wells with evaluator to allow you to select points or areas to use for quantitation

Assay flexibility is further enhanced by precise temperature control to 45°C as well as multi-mode shaking capabilities. Both are standard on the PHERAstar Plus. The PHERAstar Plus can read 6-1536 well plates and the sensitivity of the PHERAstar Plus is not compromised in 1536-well plates.

The PHERAstar Plus comes with BMG LABTECH's established reader Control and MARS Data Analysis Software. MARS includes significant ease-of-use enhancements such as S/N, Z' and many other standard calculations. The Wizard creates an easy step-by-step calculation of a standard curve and the Template Manager is an excellent tool for building complex data processing protocols. Some of the other many outstanding features of this software package include improved robotic integration capabilities via DDE or ActiveX interface, digital signature and FDA 21 CFR part 11 compliance.
