Description
Pierce offers a large variety of immobilized Streptavidin products to help in purification and generation of reproducible results. Pierce provides a purified form of Streptavidin immobilized on two types of beaded supports and on three types of microplates. The lower nonspecific binding properties of Streptavidin makes immobilized Streptavidin a superior alternative to immobilized avidin. This is very important when using Streptavidin on a beaded support for immunoprecipitation applications. For immunoprecipitation, try the Pierce Streptavidin Agarose products. The support consists of crosslinked beaded agarose which provides a stable, leach resistant linkage for capturing biotinylated molecules. If using immobilized Streptavidin for purifying proteins that bind to a biotinylated ligand (DNA or peptides), we recommend using the UltraLink products. The UltraLink supports come in a “Plus” version, with twice the amount of Streptavidin loaded per ml of gel.
For immunoassay development, Pierce has coated Streptavidin onto microplates and preblocked the plastic surface. Any biotinylated compound can now be attached to the plate and be analyzed.
