Provided the room temperature is at least 23° C, animals blood pressure can be measured without heating the animal. After photoplethysmographically measuring tail arterial blood pressure, pulses are stored in the computer memory and peak levels of the pulses are plotted on a display.
Operation is simple and easy. With practice, animals can be measured in minutes allowing for high throughput. The animal is placed in a restrainer and a cuff put on the tail. Then, by simply pressing the START key, heart rate, systolic BP, mean BP, and diastolic BP are automatically measured. The monitor can be set to repeat every 3-99 minutes, perfect for regular BP monitoring and recording throughout surgery. A printout shows data immediately, and said data can be exported to a computer via a serial port.
Includes built -in printer, 9" display, Measuring Stand, choice of Cuff-Pulse Sensor, choice of Animal Holder, and 5 rolls of Thermo Chart Paper. A high-speed thermal printer, integral to the instrument, is also included. Optional software (contact Stoelting for further information) is available to export data to PCs for analysis. A full range of sensors and restrainers are available from stoelting. A 220V model is also available.
