Description
Finnzymes' T7 RNA Polymerase is a DNA-depended RNA polymerase coded by the bacteriophage T7. This enzyme catalyzes efficient synthesis of single-stranded RNA in a 5’to 3’ direction, and has a stringent specificity for double-stranded T7 promoter sequence.

One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that incorporates 1 nmol of UTP into acid-insoluble form at 37 degrees C in 60 minutes in the following reaction mixture: 40 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.9 at 25 degrees C), 6 mM MgCl2, 10 mM dithiothreitol, 2 mM spermidine, 0.5 mM each ATP, CTP, GTP and UTP, 500 ng bacteriophage T7 DNA and 1 ìCi [3H]-UTP per 30 ìl reaction volume.
