Description
H2DCFDA is a cell-permeant indicator for reactive oxygen species that is nonfluorescent until the acetate groups are removed by intracellular esterases and oxidation occurs within the cell. For improved versions of this dye check out 6-carboxy-2',7'-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate (C-2938) and 5-(and-6)-chloromethyl-2',7'-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate (C-6827).
