Analgesy Meter for the Rat Paw (Randall-Selitto)
from
myNeuroLab.com
Description
The Randall-Selitto test requires applying increasing pressure on the paw until the animal flinches or struggles. References for use in the rat or mouse are provided below.
It is commonly applied bilaterally to an inflamed paw, with the other not inflamed paw as a control.
The test is started by foot pedal, and stopped by releasing the foot pedal when the rat makes a stereotyped flinch response. Includes sensor switch for computer connection.
