Active Avoidance/Escape Shuttle Box, Mice
from
myNeuroLab.com
Description
Includes mouse size shuttle box.
An attractive rendition of the classical shuttle box apparatus. The animal chamber has a shock grid floor, wired in halves, with an 8 pole scrambler to reliably deliver shock to either side, as programmed. The floor tilts slightly about the center to change switch state whenever the animal crosses.
The animal may be presented variable levels of acoustic, visual, or shock stimuli with timing and contingencies between them, depending on operator programming of the control/recording unit. The shock may be avoidable or not, escapable or not, signaled or not. Avoidance may require single or multiple crossings. All programming is entered on the programming/recording unit by numbers and variable function buttons. Data is displayed on LED display window. Alternatively, a serial port allows direct connection to a computer for data collection or programming. Includes software, and USB adaptor.
The instrument includes the classical shuttle box, and the microprocessor controlled programming unit, and the connecting cable.
