Hole Board for Mouse Exploratory Behavior

Description
Exploratory behavior in mice is measured by the tendendy to poke the head into a dark hole. Mice will not ambulate about an open field, like a rat, but will stick to walls. Five minutes on the hole board table, without any pre exposure, is sufficient to see effects of psychotropic drugs, brain damage, or genetic alterations.
Anxiety will suppress exploratory behavior, open field in the rat or head poking in the mouse. Drugs, genetics or brain damage that suppresses anxiety will promote these behaviors.
This instrument is made of easily cleaned material, is a table top mice will stay on, and electronically scores head pokes of sufficient depth as infrared beam breaks. Data may be automatically collected.
